Welcome to Sheffield Town Trust
Sheffield Town Trust is one of the oldest charitable organisations in the country having originally been established in 1297. It is a registered charity that supports around 140 groups, organisations, and charities every year.
The Trust has thirteen Trustees headed by the Town Collector, the historical name for its Chairman, with the administration being overseen by the Law Clerk. Income from the Trust’s capital investments in property and the stock market is distributed in accordance with the Trust Deeds for charitable and public purposes for the benefit of Sheffield and its inhabitants.
As a response to the ongoing Covid-19 Pandemic, grant applications received from charities that are related to the pandemic will be prioritised over those which are not.
