How to apply to Join the Sheffield Town Trust Subscription List 

The Town Trust has operated a subscriptions list for many years, through which it has supported the core running costs of several local charities and organisations with committed funding for a period of 3 years at a time.  This funding is not intended to support one-off projects which the normal quarterly application process covers but the Town Trust believes that having this certainty of a contribution to core running costs at least gives charities and organisations some certainty so that they can plan their activities over that period. 


In 2021 the Town Trust decided to update its approach to the Subscriptions List and to invite         applications from charities/organisations to be on the list. Grants are for core costs only and could be in the region of £6,000 in total over the whole of the three years. This, by way of example, would be paid in instalments of £2,000 each year.  Applications will be open to all charities and organisations whose objects are to support the residents of Sheffield.  Applications open on Tuesday 21st May and close on Monday 12th August 2024 at 5pm. Confirmation of the membership of the Subscriptions List will take place at the 18th November 2024 Trustee meeting.

Making an application to the Subscription List

Should you wish to be considered for joining our Subscription List you will need to complete our online application form below which will need to be submitted with the required supporting documents.  

  1. Read the application questions and prepare your answers in advance. You must complete your application in one go, you cannot save your application or return to it. We recommend you draft your answers  and documents to be uploaded before starting an application. 

  2. Documents that you may need include: details of your organisation; an outline of the core activities the grant will support over the three years and  your latest set of accounts.

  3. All application fields marked with a * must be completed to enable the submission of the form.

  4. When you have gathered the information that you need then complete the on-line application form below and press the "Subscription List Only Apply Now" button once.  You will receive an automated reply to acknowledge receipt of your application.

What happens next?

Receipt of an application will be acknowledged initially by an automated email. If you do not receive this confirmation, please contact us to verify that your application has been received.  A Town Trust Trustee may get in touch to discuss your application further, if required.  Proposals will be made at our November meeting in the application year to confirm the subscription list for the following three years.
